Dan TDM live in Poole

Well what a lovely day!
The boys didn’t have a clue what we had in store for them today.  I told them we were going to Poole park to have a look around as I used to go through it everyday to college.  I also said we could have a look at Poole Lighthouse theatre as one of my sons is performing there next week!

As we pulled in to the multi-storey (which has very tight parking spaces by the way!) I could see many kids wearing mine craft clothes and Dan TDM products.  Still, the boys didn’t catch on! We entered the venue  – The Lighthouse, which was bustling with families.  One of my sons saw a sign saying “Dan TDM on tour” and they both then cottoned on.

We made our way to look at the merchandise, this included t-shirts, lanyards, pug soft toys, mugs and many more options that I feel allowed for a variety of budgets. We bought a program, two mugs, a lanyard and finally a cuddly toy.

The show

I really didn’t know what to expect from the show.  I’ve seen many of Dan’s youtube videos and having his voice continuously in the background feel as though he is part of our family.

Now I’m not giving away any spoilers from the show, it is obvious how much work as gone in it. Let’s just say there is something for everyone, audience participation, humour and video games, what more could you ask for?!  My boys had a fantastic time and were hooked as soon as they started watching.

Dan TDM is great from a parent’s point of view, child friendly and entertaining.

At the end of the show we were walking back to the car, where conveniently the backstage door is, the boys got to see Dan come out and say hi  to the gathering crowd briefly.  Both the boys were a little disappointed the lanyard had a space for an autograph but no they had no chance to get an autograph.

I have had big hugs and thanks from my boys thanking us for keeping it a surprise.  They are already planning on seeing Dan again as they want his autograph. It is such a shame there were greedy people buying and selling the VIP tickets for far too much money it would have made their world if they had got to meet their idol.

They have gone to bed with smiles on their faces.

I put together a quick video with the GoPro splice app, I hope you like it.

Dan TDM on tour

Just a quick post – we are all getting ready to go to watch Dan TDM on tour.  The boys haven’t got a clue, I am sooooo excited to see their reaction.  I was actually dreaming about it last night and kept waking up! I will be posting a review of the show later/tomorrow, from what I have read so far the boys and I will not be disappointed 🙂

They haven’t got a clue!!

Guy Fawkes Night

It’s the 5th of November or otherwise known as Guy Fawkes night.  As a child this is the one night of the year I was terrified of because I hated fireworks!!

Tonight we will be taking our “brave” children to a great display nearby.  I’m really looking forward to dressing up in warm clothes, hat and gloves.  I plan to drink some kind of mulled drink or hot chocolate and “aaaah” and “ooooh” at some pretty fireworks.

Surprise visit

This Sunday we are surprising our two youngest sons.  We managed to get tickets for one of their idol’s shows showing at The Lighthouse Theatre in Poole.  Their idol is Dan TDM a YouTuber who’s YouTube videos heavily feature the game Minecraft as well as other video games. I highly recommend having a look if you have children that like watching YouTube and you want videos that are child friendly.  Getting the tickets  for this tour was  like trying to get hold of rocking horse poo!   Tickets had sold out and the only available tickets where being sold by touts at heavily inflated prices.  I refuse to pay these prices as the act doesn’t benefit from the money.  Lucky for us after I had put our name down on a waiting list we had a call from the lighthouse to say some tickets were available YAY!!

The boys have not got a clue at all, so on Sunday we will drive to the venue and catch their reaction on camera – watch this space! I cannot wait to see their happiness, Dan has inspired them to create their own YouTube channel.

I won!

One of my hobbies is entering competitions. There is nothing quite like reading the the luring text about the possible prize you could possibly win, dreaming about that holiday you could win, or how you will spend the prize money.

I have been very lucky to have received some lovely prizes. Yesterday I received an email, one of the exciting ones where the subject line or the preview of the message reads “congratulations”. It was an email to tell me I had won a signed pair of David Haye boxing gloves. Such an interesting prize! Today I received another email to tell me I had won a silk blend kimono from Harlow and Fox RRP £500! I’ve had a look and it is very pretty.

So two wins within a couple of days, what a lucky girl I am. I am also patiently waiting for a couple of prizes to turn up, I won a trolly keyring and a “sweet treat” from another competition……I am imagining that will be something yummy, whether I will share or not who knows!

My biggest money win was a couple of years ago, I won £2200 from a Dickensons Real Deal competition. Back in December I won £500 along with a pretty snazzy smartphone.

Take one thing from this post, you have to be in it to win it!

I highly recommend this as a hobby, it can save you money on presents and you may gain new experiences.

Well I’m off to dream about winning a holiday somewhere warm…….
